Maggie Gyllenhaall 'too old' to play someone in their 20's? Sources please!

See, this annoys me to the extent I can't even describe. And I'll explain why.

There's more men writers (for movies, at least).

More men directors.

More men are also attracted to women, and the older they get, chances are it'll be younger women. Hence, an idea forms in their mind for something, an unique story that just might be what they want to see; whether subconsciously or not. If the story gets approved, and could be profitable, you get movies like those.

Hence the issue. There is nothing wrong with older men dating younger women, and it shouldn't matter, as long the story is good. Am I the only one who realizes that, or what?

How can that be an issue? If that isn't to your liking, then I can say younger men/older women isn't to mine. I can make it an issue, just like you're making this an 'issue'. There are plenty of movies depicting exactly that, although, perhaps, a bit less (unsurprising, considering that most writers/directors get more chance as they get older, not when they're younger).

The only solution, would be, to cease filming movies altogether, or film with genderless, colorless robots, who have nothing to say, nothing to do, because something they do might offend someone, or show something that isn't to liking of someone else.

The only issue here is that perhaps, there might not be as much women that direct/write movies. But, you can't really urge women to go there, if they don't want to, and one shouldn't. There was a small comic that, imo, depicted the issue quite decently. Basically, depicting two stands; one to the left for science, other for gender studies. Women choose, you guessed it, gender studies, sign up for it, then guess what? "We need more women in science!" Yep... congrats.

Those, however, that want to do it... they will do it.

The issue is, as always, trying to make it more of an issue, even though it isn't, not a 'feminist' issue, anyway.

As for Maggie, too bad for her. If* this is true, this shouldn't be the case, but we don't know what the story is about, or what age the characters are supposed to be. Older women often play younger women, so this whole thing kind of stinks, especially considering that in the world we live in, I doubt any respectable director/writer would risk getting feminists angry, because they'd rip him a new one just like they did to that guy with a shirt, over nothing. Unless the director is socially inept. There's obviously lack of information, and the fault can only be on her for that. Hopefully the director or someone will come out, and explain why/what exactly happened, and give us more information.

TLDR: Honestly, while I do have issues with feminists, I think my biggest issue here is someone, expect other people's stories to adhere to their likening.
