I think many of us can relate!

I’m an avid reader now, but I only started in my early twenties. Why so late? Because nobody in my family read books, none of my friends did, and the only books we ever read in school were by William bloody Shakespeare. I had no starting point and no idea that books could even be enjoyable.

It was only when I was talking to my friend about how much I enjoyed Final Fantasy for the stories and not so much for the gameplay that he introduced me to fantasy novels.

Kids nowadays have at least had Harry Potter to introduce them to books. I really wish my English classes had just focused on reading different genres than on five years of various Shakespeare plays.
