Martials without GWM/PAM

This is how I dealt with GWM/SS. Split them into half feats to keep them for later tiers of play, slightly nerfed the damage (but buffed crits & GWFS), replaced ignoring cover with an aimed shot for SS, and lastly shifted the Archery fighting style to instead buff damage.

Cleave

  • Increase your Strength score by 1, to a maximum of 20.
  • On your turn, when you reduce a creature to 0hp or critically hit with a heavy weapon that you are proficient with, you can immediately make one melee weapon attack as a bonus action against a creature in reach.
  • When you reduce a creature to 0hp with a melee attack with a heavy weapon that you are proficient with, you may apply any excess damage to an adjacent creature of your choice within reach, if your attack roll would also beat their armor class.

Great Weapon Master

(Prerequisite: "Cleave")

  • Increase your Strength score by 1, to a maximum of 20.
  • Before you make a melee attack with a heavy weapon that you are proficient with, you can choose to take a -5 penalty to the attack roll. If the attack hits, you add 2d6 to the attack's damage.

Deadeye

  • Increase your Dexterity score by 1, to a maximum of 20.
  • Attacking at long range doesn't impose disadvantage on your ranged attack rolls.
  • As a bonus action during your turn, you may carefully aim your next ranged attack. You gain a +5 bonus to the attack roll.

Sharpshooter

(Prerequisite: "Deadeye")

  • Increase your Dexterity score by 1, to a maximum of 20.
  • Before you make an attack with a ranged weapon that you are proficient with, you can choose to take a -5 penalty to the attack roll. If you have the Archery fighting style, for this attack its bonus is applied to your damage roll, not the attack roll. If the attack hits, you add 2d6 to the attack's damage.
