Match Thread: Collingwood vs Richmond (Round 3)

Well great then! Clearly the Collingwood player is the one intentionally causing the stippage.

It wasn't held in. Wtf are you talking about. Held in means HELD UNDER THE PLAYER. The Richmond player did not have the ball under him so by your own rules that is no longer valid.

'Split out' is just assuming the player is still on top of the ball because generally they aren't going to me able to move when they're being tackled with people on top of them. In this case he did move and was no longer on top of the ball meaning it is free.

Answer this, if a player dives on the ball and then stands up but leaves the ball on the ground and walks away. No players are now anywhere near the ball, Is that a free kick? The ball hasn't spilled out, it hasn't been cleared, it's just sitting on the ground in the same spot it was dived on. By your logic that is a free kick.

Clearly you have taken the rules the wrong way. 'Clearing the ball' means it can no longer be underneath you. It doesn't mean you literally have to clear the ball from that specific area.
