I think Coman likely got injured a little bit or at least "mentally scarred“ after that one hard tackle in the beginning of the Leipzig match. Probably more of a precautionary step....

With Martinez in the line-up today, either Kimmich or Thiago have to be more offensive and will rotate and play together with Müller, so I personally don’t see a huge(!) problem there! As long as there is (at least) one genuin "playmaker“ in the offensive midfield, either Thiago, James or even Kimmich, Thomas can work fine on the wing.

Just give him freedom, players to play 1-1s and rotate with and he’ll be all right!
