What do you guys think about Kimmich at RB?

God I hope we don't make him a right back.

Just because he had a good game against Northern bloody Ireland and two terrible ones against Italy and France that people politely gloss over. It's not that he just had a bad day in those two matches that's normal. The springing point was he looked completely out of his depth and nothing like a right back.

I feel as if people only say yes because they want a German to follow up Lahm and because he had two decent games there he's now supposed to be the next big thing at RB. He's even more of a CB than a right back to me.

Castro was able to play right back really well but Leverkusen were smart enough not to piss away his potential as a top midfielder by not shoehorning him into a role he wasn't as good at as he was a midfielder.

I personally hope he doesn't get shifted into one.

Even though he may become a very good right back he could be a better midfielder and that's what we should focus on. It's easier to buy a new right back or give Türkkalesi a chance (unlikely but possible) than to spend ages molding Kimmich into something and waiting for him to grow into it when it can be resolved much quicker.
