Mattis resignation triggered by phone call between Trump and Erdogan.

>When we say neoliberal world order, we are speaking of a system of trade deals, defense pacts, international banks and corporations, as well as post-national organizations; an arrangement of relations based off of American neoliberalism. It's a system that brought the West together and ensured stability. However, that system has grown corrupt, disconnected from their constituents as you have pointed out and is failing.

I agree on everything but the last part. Political institutions **are** corrupt by nature because human nature is corrupt, whether the institutions have grown more corrupt I don't know. But ignoring institutions such as WTO, UN, EU, NATO will not be a good idea, why is that? Because you really don't know the outcome nor can a country like America stand alone. As much as you think America is unbeatable it also needs it's allies.

>1) It's a system backed on American security guarantees, something our friends are now taking advantage of. 2) Asking them to pay their fair share or develop their own capabilities is not insulting. 3) The American people on both sides of the aisle are no longer interested in policing the world at its current rate. Or at the very least, are tired of their taxes paying for it.

1) My problem here is 'taking advantage of', America pays more than their fair share, hence they also have that much more leverage over, lets say Europe.
2) It's not, but for Trump to specifically calling NATO obsolete, whilst calling for a 2% military expenditure for every NATO members whilst he refuse to stand by article 5.
This is in combination with an administration which, lets face it, has very close ties to Kremlin, just look at Helsinki. As a European I cannot see how we should take Trump Serious.
3) Well, luckily politicians has a greater sense for geopolitics than the common citizen. Wars has never been popular .

>This world order is breaking down. A new one is arising. It doesnt involve isolationism as much as you think it does. Trump is simply renegotiating.

TPP was renegotiation, Trump doesn't even negotiate with his advisers so how do you expect him to negotiate with world leaders.

>Lastly, I dont watch Fox News.

Fair enough.
