Men of Reddit, have you ever been "stunned" by a woman's beauty? If so, what's the story?

I was accompanying my wife to a work event. She works in film/television (crew, never on screen). All dressed up and just sort of chilling while my wife was networking, basically.

An actress came over to talk to me. She was absolutely lovely, very charming and charismatic, and so attractive I nearly went into respiratory failure.

My specific brand of dorky farm boy is really unusual in film/tv/theatre circles, and is apparently catnip to a certain kind of woman who works in that field and, I assume, likes novelty value. The actress in question was, very charmingly, flirting with me.

I gracelessly stammered out something like, "I'm, um, thank you, um, but I'm um, here with, um, my wife." She smiled very charmingly and apologised.

Then she did some kind of weird magic where she just... was less sexy? Like, she was still incredibly beautiful and charismatic, but whatever megawatt sexuality broadcaster she has, she turned it off, and then we just had a lovely chat. I don't know how better to describe it. There was this vibe she was putting out that was just pure sex, but she could stop doing it. I don't even know what it was.

She was still very beautiful and charismatic, but it was just... normal beautiful woman levels of sexy. The kind that I, as an adult, can perfectly well recognise exists without it affecting my composure.

A man came over and tried to talk to her, but I get the impression he was kind of a creep, because she made excuses about how she couldn't possibly leave poor me to stand there all by myself feeling awkward, and then took me with her to pull two other women out of conversations with men they didn't seem to want to talk to.

My wife came back to find me with, as I recall, six women, four of them actresses, getting glared at from medium distance by the most persistent of the creepy guys. She found it amusing.

She'd worked with one of the actresses, who was thrilled to see her, and told one of the non-actress women how great my wife is at her job, and since then the other woman has hired my wife a few times, so it worked out pretty well.
