Merrie and the Boulet Brothers

i'm gonna be an annoying devil's advocate here, but i don't think it's as black and white as everyone is making it out to be. merrie lost some of her luggage on the way to do dragula, which is why she didn't have prepared looks for the promo and the rock challenge. i don't think it would've been completely fair to judge her looks on the same level as everyone else due to her having to pull together scraps while not being able to sew. that explains why they graded her on a curve for her two worst performances, but i think they should've just acknowledged this in the show cause if you don't use reddit or twitter you'd be none the wiser.

HOWEVER, the way they're handling merrie right now is just flat out not great. a fair amount of ignorant fans are directly sending her hate only because she came for a white fan favorite, and some of them are including slurs or death threats. that's totally not okay and should be addressed, but it shouldn't eclipse merrie's actions. hundreds or maybe even thousands (idk this fandom's size) of people have civilly acknowledged merrie's sexism and are now being ignored to scapegoat the minority of people who are being unhinged and racist. i know this in an unpopular opinion, but the boulet's are receiving too much praise for their statement on the matter. they had no time to address meatball when she put them and ian on blast for racism. they had no time to acknowledge the massive hate and death threats hollow received. but now that their friend is getting dragged for being sexist, now they wanna say "it's just a tv show it's not that serious". i don't think they genuinely care about the issue, they care about their friend getting dog piled after going on their tv show. i really hope i'm proven wrong though because dragula is my favorite tv show of all time.

TL;DR - Boulet Brothers start taking more accountability challenge!
