Microsoft: Official Support Thread

My email account was locked for suspicious activity. I filled out the form but I am having severe anxiety right now because myself and my son use this email as a family. He uses it for his Xbox and I use it for my Skype. Of course family settings are enabled but he doesn't use my skype at all.

Last night while playing Xbox and I was on Skype with my lover, I was booted off and so was my son on the xbox. I went to log into the email to see what was going on but it said the account was locked, no notification was sent to my linked emails at all.. I know why it was locked and have already taken the steps for reinstatement. However waiting for Microsoft to respond to an email with a skeleton staff in their support centers is driving my nerves up the wall. Not only do we use this email for entertainment and social communication, but I personally use it for transaction history with my small business. All transactions within the past 12 hours appear in this email. My son is autistic and is freaking out. I am freaking out myself because I am being pestered by banks now from my customers because I do not have access to the email right now.

I need someone to speed this process along and reinstate the email account. Without it, my son and I can no longer use services associated with the account or business. I've already talked with Microsoft Support and they told me that the account would be reinstated since it was only a profile picture violation. However, I am anxious right now and its becoming really bad mentally knowing that my sons service to Xbox Live, which I pay for, is being restricted over a profile picture.

I've gotten no email about any fraudulent attempts to access or payments that were out of the ordinary. I didn't even get an email or notification that the profile picture was against the Terms of Service which I find very upsetting as I could have changed the picture without having to lock the whole email account. Microsoft staff also told me that it could have been due to too many failed login attempts, but I haven't gotten anything about a reset. They also told me I would have to wait up to 72 hours for a reply. This is highly unacceptable.

This is not okay at all, especially during this COVID-19 pandemic where people are relying on their digital content more than ever.
