“FF16 is shaping up to be one of the best in the series”

The more I see, the more I come to understand that fi Al fantasy has devolved into a bland run-of-the-mill action rpg. But apparantly numbers make it jrpg yeah sure.

I sincerely hope it fails. It gets review bombed. At this point, square has consistently released garbage for the past 10 years only to be supported by loyal fans. Fans so loyal, will buy the game in the hopes they might relive that first experience they had with ff7 or the like. But alas, since 13 everything has been garbage except 14. 14 is keeping square Enix alive. Unfortunately, what we are getting with 16 is some sort of 14 clone with all the worst aspects of it, including shotty action combat and shitty gaijin battles. Oh but there's numbers so it's a jrpg.

Why can't they just make a fkn turn based FANTASY game? I'm sick of all this political bullshit. They're so bad at telling stories these days they choose to create these convoluted pseudo political star wars style plotlines like it's supposed to be easy but they can't even do that right.

Its time for FF to either go back to its roots, which is to say remake the already existing loved games in the franchise or let it die. Square Enix are the most inconsistent, incompetent developers of all time.
