I miss the threat of the infected

I agree, I do genuinely love this show (this may seem a little ranty or nitpicky) but Ellie is supposed to be the "cure" to the infected yet we don't really see them. If the biggest problem in this world is other people, why is a cure even that important? What would it actually solve? The infection ends and everything just goes back to normal? It's been 20 years, 'normal' is this new world now, not the old one. People aren't just going to change and now they don't have to fear the infected so it could probably make things worse as they aren't in hiding anymore.

I understand that the story is about Joel, Ellie and their relationship with each other and the world, it is why we are watching the show. But I do believe we need to feel the weight of the importance of getting Ellie to the Fireflies and subsequently leading to the weight of how the first game ends.
