Ignoring would probably be too strong a description, but I also don't keep close track of the numbers. Winter is generally bad for disease and I'm gunshy after getting knocked down a couple pegs by the flu in 2019. I have permanent tendonitis from the meds they gave me for it (now banned in the US, super fun!) so I've been more caredul than most people since just before COVID hit.

It was, by the by, super fun explaining to people that I was walking around in N95s and such, and had regularly traveled to China, for completely unrelated reasons two months before COVID hit.

I don't live my pre-2019 life, but I also don't live by COVID numbers.
