I came to this game fairly blind, and didn't have tons of time (7-ish hours, level 8 Psyker). I went into the Darktide beta thinking I'd be playing a caster. I came out realizing that I played a melee character with the occasional "spell." Kind of felt like I made the wrong choice of class, if I was melee anyway. I may play Zealot or Ogryn instead when the game actually releases.

Obviously may change with more playtime, or perhaps with non-inept friends who don't lose not once, but twice, with difficulty 1 missions. Perhaps on higher difficulties, it won't be such a fight just to find something to... fight. And it did feel satisfying when I managed to start charging Brain Burst at the correct time to insta-kill a hound or charger. But yeah, went in imagining caster, came out realizing that it was a weird melee/sniper mix.
