My plug picked up a new brand that he said was from Italy. Not sure if legit but it’s making me cough like crazy so I know it’s fire!

You see the joke here is that I’m posting an obviously fake brand of distillate cartridges mocking the common “Is my black market legit” post in which people are unsure of the authenticity of the THC cartridge they recently purchased.

The gist of the joke is that I’m querying about the legitimacy of cartridge that is branded with “Coronavirus” and “Covid-19”, names both associated with the 2020 Coronavirus pandemic. It’s immediately safe to assume that the product is not real due to the fact that any company or producer would not want to associate themselves with such a widespread crisis, and because “COVID-19” is a disease caused by the 2019 Novel Coronavirus, and not a strain of marijuana. The “OG” was amended to the end of “COVID-19” to mock the names of many marijuana strains which end in “OG”.

The section of the title that states “My plug said it’s from Italy” is a twist on the common saying “My plug said it’s straight from Cali” which is usually said by individuals in denial that their recently purchased THC cartridges are most likely fake or those who are easily deceived by their dealer that the product is from California and therefore “must be gas.” Italy is also a region that is currently being heavily affected by the 2019 Nobel Coronavirus outbreak.

The section of the title that states “Not sure if legit” is a reference to the many posts mentioned in paragraph one where posters will still question the legitimacy of an obviously fake cartridge.

The section of the title that states “It’s making me cough so I know it’s fire” is a reference to the fact that one of the main symptoms of COVID-19 is coughing, and that many marijuana users will falsely associate the immediate side effects of marijuana inhalation such as coughing and throat irritation to the potency of their product, which is unlikely to be the case.

This is a prime example of a phenomenon commonly referred to as “sarcasm” - a falsehood in which can be viewed in a serious, literal manner, but the intended message is almost always seen as the opposite of the statement.
