Yeah I think someone else said go to court. It's probably your best option.

There's usually an option for leniency if you write a letter to the issuing authority (google who sent you your fine) not sure about Tas though. I'm sure there is.

I think your best bet is to go court option, explain the circumstances and ask the judge if it could be excused because; you have a great driving record, you do lots of fun stuff with the community, you are an awesome person, you have a pet rock called Matilda.

Also ask if they decide to convict you, that you are able to keep your licence for work.

Keep in mind that they are two seperate things that you are asking for.
