My wife red-pilling all her friends who think Handmaid’s Tale is Trump’s America

The world view is not the same.

Yes, Beirut was once the Paris of the East. That kind of thing is never allowed to last more than a hundred years if even that long.

It is true that men and women are not interchangeable in Orthodox Judaism and there are clear differences in social roles.

That is true of the Amish and used to be true of lots of groups and even still is, at bottom, in many groups, maybe all groups.

Yes, Orthodox Judaism is traditional and very gendered. So are the Amish and the Mennonites.

I can't help noticing that traditional religions are were the action is when it comes to having a population and a group future. I feel that way about traditional Christianity.

I don't favor considering women small or lesser. Orthodox Judaism says they are actually cosmically superior. They were made last. You always make the thing last that was your ultimate idea, your creative goal. Everything else is on the way to that thing

Judaism doesn't love other ways of life but considers them people you should still deal honestly with, and let alone. There is no attempt to convert anybody.

I don't think that viewpoint is seen everywhere else.

A Jew knows how to pick up a gun, but making war does not get a Jew into heaven. Not an Orthodox one or a secular one. Another difference.

Jewish Orthodoxy does not see domestic usefulness as oppression.

There are lots of people of all kinds who don't see a domestic life, complete with cooking, cleaning, and not having to type memos, as an oppressed one.

There are busy lawyers who wish they were home instead of at the office.

What being oppressed constitutes is not uniform or universally agreed on.
