Wannabe immigrant from South America here, on a visa at the moment, for the next 4 or so years. Please bear with me:

I came here through a legal route, the one that was possible. Still it was not the best I could get. I have to say, your immigration system is quite fucked. Oh boy, was it a pain to even get a visa.

Here's my view on illegal immigration: I fucking hate most of my own people who are getting here illegally, they only make it harder for me. There are two kinds of people who come here:

1) The motherfuckers who just want to drain the system and abuse of every resource possible without contributing a penny to it like they were used to do back home. I'm talking about going to the most expensive hospital with a fake ID and never paying the bills, overcharging 500% on whatever job they're doing and scamming their clients, then sending money back home. They do not consider the US home, they don't care about learning the language. Fuck they don't even separate their recyclable trash as far as I know.

2) My kind. I came here two years ago after trying to find a legal way for what? 6 years? Yeah. My wife is getting her PhD here from our own pockets (this is at least a couple thousand dollars injected in your economy, you're welcome :D). I've been speaking english since I was 10 and I made a bunch of friends here long before stepping into the country. It helps coming from a western country, but I make sure I integrate in the culture in every way possible. I respect the laws. I try to be a productive member in the society. I volunteered for 8 in a Public Library in the county helping kiddos with computers before getting my work permit. I don't care that I work with software and have a college degree, I spent time studying all your high school History and Geography curriculum and got myself a GED. I feel like this is my home and I'm not here to act like a virus. You don't shit where you want to live right?

And yet, with the actual system it's going to take some good years until I get all the paperwork done, go to green card, etc. And you know what some shithead who just came here will do? He's going to commit marriage fraud and become a permanent resident in less than a year. Some won't even go the fraudulent route and will just keep draining until they're caught so fucked that they're deported by the dumbest reason. That's the state we're in now. That's how hard is for someone who's coming from a not so privileged country to live here.

I hope from the bottom of my heart President Trump works out a way for decent people who have some love and something good to offer for this country to be able to do so. I would've voted for him and I want to see all the scum don't give a shit to this country expelled never to come back.
