Never order from Craft Shack

Their website code is a chamber of horrors.

You can't sort beers with the dropdown box because there's a single-character typo in the code – "paramcs" for "params." It cripples core functionality and took me about 5 minutes to find and debug just for a lark.

While I was finding that typo, I also found the comments in the code where the dev had been trying to master the secrets of sorting by price, but was stymied, and left himself a note to come back to it later. It's not clear what the problem is, as you literally just need to uncomment the thing, fix the typo, and the sort-by-price functionality works, too. I think the dev might have been confused because the site is sorting on the price of the lowest package size, while displaying whatever is the first size that happens to be listed as the price.

LOL YEAH THAT'S IT EXACTLY HERE THE GUY IS APPEALING TO REDDIT FOR HELP FIXING HIS SHITTY CODE WHICH I LITERALLY FIGURED THE PROBLEM OUT WITH BY LOOKING AT THE OUTPUT WITHOUT EVEN SEEING THE CODE but we didn't help him so the site never got fixed.

There's some kind of ill-considered "I don't need a lawyer, I'll do it myself!" type "disclaimer" on the FAQ page which claims that buying from their store "authorizes and gives 100% consent to Craftshack to charge the buyer’s credit card."

On that same page, there's also this intriguingly phrased notice:

We maintain a $35 order minimum as of 2/20/14 which is enforced prior to clicking 'check out'.

Hmm, that's weird, why are they telling me the details of... wait a minute, are they implying that...?

Yes, they are. "checklimits()" in the storefront JS uses client-side Javascript to enforce the minimum order limit and disable the submit order button. Apparently they are paying $4.99 a month for the privilege of using some hack's criminally terrible solution for this, too.

Seriously, between the site itself, and your story, I think it's clear that these clowns need to go the fuck out of business. You're actually being far, far too generous on the owner in your update; he's an incompetent, probably lying to you about the spam folder, and he hires and stands behind staff who are useless and dishonest.

Fuck him and his shitty website [that he literally had created by a kid from Craigslist with no qualifications or experience who learned everything on the job.])http://www.reddit.com/r/CharlestonTech/comments/2tlosk/does_anyone_know_of_any_web_development_companies/_
