Great post. No, a crash is not "inevitable" - nor is it impossible! Everyone is a financial expert at the moment with a crystal ball, but the truth is that we're all guessing. The price will always fluctuate, and not even John McAfee's junk knows what will happen long term.

If you want to play it safe, you should have reasonably specific plans to cash out if it drops above/below certain amounts.

If you like living dangerously, try to invest an amount you're prepared to kiss goodbye to, then forget about it for a year and see where the market is at then (or torture yourself like all of us by checking daily, but HODL!).

(Nb. A transient 20% drop is absolutely not a "crash", especially when the price has only dipped to last fortnight's unprecedented all time high, but especially if a month later it's back up to dizzying new heights.

People were adamant the price would crash very soon after it got over $5000. How did that pan out?)
