The NewZ -- Exposed, Blatant Copyright laws broken.

Well, this is a bit interesting. Let's clear some things up:

First, you'd have to know the history behind this game and why it was hacked to death so much. The only reason that these servers are called 'emulators' is because the1domo and his stolen server wanted to pretend that these servers were not made using stolen source code. The code was private for a bit, until domo sold it to Vusion - a 12 year old kid from the netherlands, who leaked it to a warez forum.

Plenty of people noticed it after that. I wrote the guide to get most servers started. Projects like DeadZ, NewZ, and shittyserverwithaZ in it plus other servers popped up.

Frediakis basically made hacks for the game when the full asset repository and source code repository was leaked to the public. This is the same thing as giving someone the key to your house and asking them to pick a lock. It requires no effort other than a compiler, a dumped binary, and basic reversing knowledge.

Fred, for all intents and purposes, is a script kiddie when it comes to coding.

But he's a smart social engineer arguably. He's able to convince an entire community of people to play on his server by creating a facade of legality, a persona of mystery, and hacks that barely function but provide enough proof that he's able to create them. Honestly social engineers are better at repairing a company's reputation than anything else, so it's no wonder that Hammerpoint picked him for their private server endorsement.

It's also not the first time a company has endorsed someone stealing their intellectual property and creating a game out of it. EverQuest and Daybreak Endorsed Project 1999, which is a true EverQuest emulator and not based on stolen code, but instead stolen IP.

With all being said, I wouldn't trust this Fred person with my money, and I certainly wouldn't trust him with my account information due to his level of social engineering. I'd trust that he can manipulate an already established community into performing a witch hunt on demand as well.

The game itself is essentially for those who like WarZ in its alpha state. That is a small amount of people. Just let those people stay in their hole on the internet and be manipulated into liking an arguably terrible game.

Copyright issues aren't an issue unless you're a rights holder. I'd be more worried about losing my personal information if I played his game.
