[No Spoilers] Why don't people like DA:I???

I'm with you, I love Inquisition - it's my absolute favourite game! I can't think of any other game that has the same level of engagement in terms of interesting NPCs and companions that you really care about.

I understand where some of the criticisms are coming from - for example, it's true that Corypheus isn't a great villain and thus the ending of the main game isn't very satisfying. But I regard Trespasser as the real ending, and that was about the most emotionally intense and interesting final scene I can imagine.

I can also see why people feel a lot of the side quests are a bit repetitive, but there are plenty of really cool side quests (the haunted house in Emerald Graves, the Still Ruins in the Western Approach, Crestwood) so you can definitely get enough Power to make it through the game without doing side quests you find boring. And personally I find the world so pretty that I really enjoy just running around and exploring it, even in the regions where there aren't a lot of plot points.

As for the Inquisitor being boring or bland - well, I think that's kind of the point. There are loads of games which come with preset characters with their own personalities; one of the fun things about the Bioware games (less so DA2) is precisely that the main character is a blank slate so you can really role-play properly.

Tldr, I love DAI and though I understand the criticisms, I think they're easily remedied by choosing the right style of play.
