I have a genuine question; I’ve literally never (haven’t been offended, haven’t even given much thought) cared to whether someone assumed no gender identity or one different from biological sex at birth. Similarly, I never cared or even gave much thought to someone’s sexual orientation. If someone wants me to call them he, her, they, I just will, I don’t care or have an opinion enough not to. To me it’s like, if someone was given her name Nancy at birth, but wanted me to call them Jan, whatever , fine. I noticed that approach really pisses off coworkers on both sides of the debate. Why? Like I won’t stand in someone’s way, I’ll respect someone’s wishes, but it’s also not my battle.
