NYU advice needed.

You should do you research. Im currently going through the same process (applying ED this year). There is a fuck ton of info on the NYU site they tell you everything you have to know. Ill sum up the basics for you because I know from experience how stressful this can be. Essentially, forget the SAT/ACT, they dont give a fuck about that. Try to get your GPA higher, unfortunately although for film they care less about academics but they still have a baseline requirement. THe first thing they look at is your GPA and Highschool transcript. I wouldnt worry too much though because a long with that the first things they also look at are you common app essays: prompt essay and Why NYU? If you display yourself as being creative enough in these Im sure they would be willing too look over your poor academics. Speaking of essays, creativity is key. You have on top of those various other essays and creative writing pieces you have to do on top of 2 short films, again, creativity is key. My advice for this junior year, do extra-curriculars, dont do loads you dont care about but stick to 1 or 2 that revolve around film or something creative you care about and pour loads of time into that. They really like that. Key take away is dont stress out, these are still early days think about doing well in school and thats it and do your research. If you show that you have done your research in essays they seem to like that. What Ive explained is really just the tip of the iceberg. Good luck!
