Oculus Experimental Setups Feature 59% Smaller Tracked Play Area with 3 Cameras Than HTC Vive Supports with 2 Lighthouses

And again, all that matters is the device works great for room-scale VR now. Doesn't matter what one assumes it was originally designed for, that makes absolutely no difference at this point, it's fully capable now. The technologies and methods they use are not as strictly locked down or intended for anything, and have always been fully capable of room-scale tracking, with the right software driving things.

How do you know all of this? This statement implies that you are using it right now and are saying first hand how great it is and that these articles are not accurate because you've personally had a great experience?

You can't make these claims with the evidence coming out right now. It was always meant to be seated, the information on Oculus's own site is what this article is going off of and 'Experimental' titles on everything doesn't help.

None of this means the Rift isn't a great device with some awesome software coming. I personally thought, very briefly that I could give up room scale for some of the cool software Oculus has in store for Rift. Both devices have strong Pros for sure but these kinds of statements are getting into blind fanboy territory.
