Oculus Touch may not end up making it to retail until December 21st, too late for many Christmas shoppers

What they are doing is really odd and the only way I can rationalize it is there are significant issues with Touch tracking in non-standard environments. It's the only thing that makes sense. The cameras are in production and Touch itself is nothing special - plastic, LEDs, and some electronics. There is no reason they can't be cranking them out big time. So why no firm delivery and no pricing?

It really sounds like a stall move. It lets them continue to sell Rifts to people who hope for tracked controllers instead of all the bad press and social media that could come with tracking not ready for prime time. If Touch hits and people have problems with it, they would obviously lose even more market share. Many enthusiasts don't even know they may need a USB add-in board. Wait until it's the general public.

Might as well put that off as long as possible even if it means upsetting current customers but it may be a house of cards if this is true. It's very bizarre and only time will tell.
