Why is OD picked so low and have a low win rate.

He does well against INT heroes in lane

I keep reading this in OD threads and whilst it's true that he reduces the auto attack damage of INT heroes in lane if he casts Astral Imprisonment on them, this alone does NOT mean he is strong against INT heroes in lane.

In actual fact many of the best heroes against OD in lane are INT heroes. I know this from experience playing as/vs OD in lane many times but I've added dotabuff stats for OD's win-rate during the last 12 months vs each of the heroes listed below in brackets just to emphasise this point.

Zeus (34.63%), Silencer (36.83%), Leshrac (39.71%), Pugna (41.45%), Death Prophet (41.78%), Lina (44.74%), Windranger (45.16%), Storm Spirit (46.17%), QoP (46.40%), Tinker (48.18%) and even Puck (49.54%) all beat him in lane when played by a competent player who is familiar with the matchup.

At least vs Storm and QoP he's decent against them until level 6 but then OD has to abandon the lane or become food for these heroes.

Then there's unconventional/niche INT mid heroes like Nyx (44.60%) and Skywrath (46.08%) which also screw OD horribly when laning against him at mid.

Near enough all INT heroes ruin OD's ultimate simply by having high INT gain which makes it so his Ultimate does literally no damage when cast on them unless OD is way ahead in net worth/experience due to the INT difference threshold built into his ultimate. This is a major issue for OD because he has to build high INT gain items whilst maintaining top net worth or his ultimate becomes practically useless against INT heroes. This also means the viability of Sanity's Eclipse is actually compromised when OD builds items like Mek and BKB instead of items like Hex and Shivas.

Actually I'm fairly confident that if you cast Sanity's Eclipse with several heroes inside the AOE and only one of those heroes is within the INT difference threshold (not big enough difference in INT between OD and enemy) then Sanity's Eclipse will deal no damage to any of the heroes inside the AOE. If this is indeed true then it's one thing that should certainly be patched, i.e. INT threshold for each hero in the AOE should be checked independently and damage calculated for each hero instead of denying damage to all heroes in the AOE if only one of them is within the INT threshold.
