Official Q&A for Monday, November 12, 2018

The time was manually recorded, no chips - it was just a dude with an iPad marking when people finished. Unfortunately my Fitbit can’t give a map with splits and all bc I didn’t have my phone with me - it’s a charge2, so it only provides all that stuff if it can sync the whole time you’re running.

It was my second marathon, but my first one was six years ago and I was super out of shape and walked a ton of it. This was my first one as a properly trained fit person! So it’s possible I just don’t know my own abilities, but I thought I had a good sense from the half marathon what I could expect from the full. I mean, I was more in pain after that 1:58 half than I am now, by a lot. That felt WAY harder than the 4:02 marathon, and that just doesn’t make sense. It was about 30 degrees cooler during the marathon which could have helped a lot but not THAT much, right? I looked at the course on mapmyrun, which the organizers provided, and it looks like the right distance. I’m going over the course again now to figure out if maybe I made a mistake or wrong turn somehow on a straight course...
