The Official SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING Discussion Ultrathread Vol. 3

I really want someone to prove me wrong because I love spiderman and want to love this movie, but I don't. Here are some of my minor issues:

  1. Why did he need to steal flashes car? Couldn't he just web-sling to the location?
  2. Not really a fan of flash. The nerd bully approach was interesting but I'm not sure I like it.
  3. Really disliked Michelle/MJ. The character was super annoying for the majority of the movie, which wasn't that big a deal until she mentioned her friends call her MJ. I cannot see her being Mary Jane, but I really don't know why else they would include that unless they intended on her being Mary Jane Watson.
  4. I didn't really like aunt may that much. The whole hot aunt thing seemed kinda strange.
  5. I wasn't a fan of the plane scene. It seems hard to believe that he would be able to land the plan without crashing into a building (it did hit one but it didn't crash into it)

Those are mostly minor issues, but there is something else I can't put my finger on that is bothering me. It could be that spiderman felt... helpless... I guess? It seemed like the fights never really went his way. Even in the end he didn't really win, Vulture just screwed up. He seemed way more skilled in Civil War, but here he just couldn't get a break. At the end of the day something just feels off. I wish I knew what it was, but I don't.
