Im saying the UFC pushes through its best salesman, not the best fighters, and helps their best salesman exceed expectations with their sales by declaring them "champions", and when you reach a certain status as a salesman for the company, you can basically get away with murder.

And yes some fighters come through and "earn" their respect, but they only makes them all the more marketable.

Meanwhile the majority consensus seems to be that it was a super close fight where Santos was handicapped, and everyone would love to see the rematch.
