A very tired Roy "Big Country" Nelson, catches the retreating Alistair Overeem with a left hook and knocks him down

I understand the difference man, but no kickboxing champion should get KO'ed over a dozen times in MMA. No amount of distance management, glove size, and takedown threat is enough to justify getting knocked out by everybody.

And it isn't highly reductionist if you followed Overeem's career outside of the UFC. He was a decent, but not great LHW who suddenly gained 35lbs of muscle and became a K1 champion. He also went undefeated for like 10 fights in MMA He goes to the UFC, beats Lesnar, then pops (remembering that he popped pre-USADA). He then returns post suspension and immediately goes 1-3, with 3 KO losses. Overeem was always a good fighter that was made great by juicing.
