in the game, it had a lot of tech. the citadel is literally sitting on an alien stockpile, for one thing.

There's already alien tech in FO1 lol. But uh I doubt that the BOS was looking for alien tech lol. They were looking for human tech.

Isn't a research facility or a military base. Really confusing why the BOS would stop there.

player count

New Vegas has a higher player count that 76 or 3. Which for a 12 year old game is not half bad. You didn't mention the fact that NV massively outsold 76 lol.
