Is Our General Internet Experience Getting Worse?

providing useful features.

Yeah. Sure. Like four copies of fucking MSBuild that stay resident and waste memory. Like four copies (because there's a pipe bug) of their fucking VB compiler (can't remember the name -- it shows up in the task manager) that stay resident and waste memory. Like VSHub.exe which as far as I can tell is completely worthless for anything I want to do. Like Microsoft.VisualStudio.Web.Host.exe, which is also worthless for anything I want to do.

Like at least six other processes that I can't remember off the top of my head, because as soon as I ran out of memory with 4GB of RAM and Visual Studio 2015 is the only application that's running I nuked that piece of shit and went back to Visual Studio 2012.

The only thing I should see running when I launch Visual Studio is devenv.exe. Period. Full stop. Everything I need should be built into Visual Studio, just like it used to be.

Visual Studio 2015 is literally the poster child for how to not design and build a development environment. The others (Eclipse, et al) have their faults, but this latest version of Visual Studio is just a huge steaming pile of shit. The fucking thing can't even run in 4GB of fucking memory! How fucked up is that?!?!

And I'm not even going to go into all of the other bugs and problems that have existed in Visual Studio for over a fucking decade that they won't fix. Like wasting gigabytes of drive space by caching shit to make their useless IDE look like it isn't a slow fucking pig. Like crashing and burning when you delete files in the temporary directories.

There are no "useful features" in Visual Studio 2015, except for supporting LINQ execution in debugger mode and the watch window. The rest of that shit (Code Analyzer, Graphics Bullshit You Don't Need But You Can't Get Rid Of, ad fucking nauseum) is just polishing the turd instead of fixing the fucking bugs and creating an IDE that doesn't spawn 500 subprocesses and run out of fucking memory.
