Parents in AVRCE should be aware

My child receives EA support due to a medical diagnosis that in no way affects his abilities in the classroom. Don’t get me wrong, I love that their classroom receives the extra support, but he doesn’t “need” it to learn. We were told he is “not permitted” to attend classes until the EAs are back. My child will be learning at-home until the strike is over, and I don’t know how they expect parents to deal with this? Fortunately I’m able to WFH (my child is too young to be home alone), but most parents can’t manage this type of disruption. And for children with more support needs or more severe disability, it’s not like their parents can just find any ole babysitter - they need someone who can manage complex needs. It’s very frustrating for the parents that AVRCE refuses to bargain in good faith and pay their crucial staff appropriately.
