Opinion: we can support our kids not wearing masks at school

Honestly, in my book it is fine people have differing opinions. The Great Barrington declaration (and the subsequent) Jon Snow declaration clearly shows the scientific community itself is divided on the best way forward. That does not automatically make me a right wing wingnut. You don't even know me?

If you want to relay everything to the health experts (who exactly one year ago were touting we did not want or need masks as they were not effective) that's a viable opinion.

But ultimately, this is still a democracy, and the politicians are (and should) be calling the shots and balancing public health, economic, social and mental aspects. And as citizens we get to vote them out or in based on how well we feel represented. Trying to stifle reasonable discussion does more harm than good.
