People really seem to dislike the song.

I agree. This is a very divisive song for good reason. To me it doesn't feel legitimate, it feels forced. The song could have been better if it wasn't political or if it wasn't Benjamin Clementine "singing". At the very least it could have been more subtle. I personally would put this as my personal least-favorite Gorillaz song. And I don't think that's just part of the classic "I hate this Gorillaz song at first but then in 6 months I love it" that a lot of Gorillaz fans go through, I genuinely dislike this song, which is sad, because I really want to like it. Like many are saying, it does not feel like a Gorillaz song. I understand it is experimental. But it feels like a Benjamin Clementine song Ft. Damon, and I can't get behind it. I've listened to it at least 20 times now throughout the day, trying to really analyze it or get a feel for the rhythm of the song - but I can't. Because it feels like that rhythm isn't there.

I'm just glad that this is not the single from the album. I really, really hope Damon keeps politics out of the new album, or at least makes his commentary subtle and clever like the past Gorillaz songs have. This song isn't subtle political commentary, it feels like it's preaching towards me that we've somehow elected someone who's pledged to literally start a nuclear holocaust. No. I've heard enough of that in other artist's music and I'm tired of it. But even when I put aside the politics, I dislike the song. It feels... generic. Gorillaz has a distinct feel, and this song is missing that feel, I reckon. Note that this is just all my opinion, so feel free to disagree.
