Gorillaz - Saturnz Bars

I don't know if this is worth posting here. I posted this on the music video's comment section, but people prefer short and sweet over lengthy in Youtube comments 9 times out of 10. I post lengthy stuff on Reddit all the time: I'm new to this subreddit, though. Not to mention, it's been a day since this got posted. Eh... I'll post it here anyway.

(This got a tad lengthy, but it may be worth the read.)

I get that people have their preferences, but I sincerely worry for the sheer massive amount of people who are calling this 'garbage auto-tune crap', or anything akin to that.

A ridiculous amount of people have this weird inset disliking of music solely because autotune is involved. Like, there's a difference between (hearing the song and not liking the sound of it) and (hearing the song and trying to tell yourself it's autotune / confirming that it is autotune, and that therefore you shouldn't like it, so you convince yourself it just isn't good or it can't be your thing).

I think a lot of people fall into the latter category there, and they may not even realize it. They may not even want to realize it, since I know people en masse don't like being told they're wrong or that they're doing something wrong.

I believe that's a legitimate thing, though. I think it's an issue, too. It doesn't happen just in the case of autotune (or whatever they think sounds like autotune), either. One of the biggest examples being rap, as an entire genre: people seriously convince themselves that a genre as wide and diverse as rap has little to nothing to offer for them, and they avoid it or try to talk down on rappers or fans of the music because it just 'can't be good'. They've convinced themselves that that's the way to talk about it. That is just crazy to me, but the reality is, that right there is a widespread mindset.

tl;dr: You can have your own opinion and all, and feel how you feel about the music, but I think a very, very large amount of people are convincing themselves (in the case of this song) that they just shouldn't / can't call it good because Popcaan sounds like he's utilizing autotune. Autotune does not innately equal bad, and I certainly think it doesn't here.
