People who fly often, what is the best advice you can give someone who has never been to an airport?

I have social anxiety and its really hard to relax for me even though I know I've done nothing wrong. My boyfriend lives is Oregon and I'm from Sweden so Ive been traveling back and forth quite a lot. When I was going through border control last time I walked up with a positive attitude thinking itd be fine like the times before. But this time the guy started asking me questions like he was trying to get me to confess something. It was confusing and made me even more nervous. Like he would ask me what date I was returning home and then ask where I was staying (even though it was written on the paper you give them) and then ask the first question again. Repeated that a couple of times before letting me through to a different guy who showed me to a room with chairs and a desk with another officer where I had to give away my passport and sit and wait. After about 15 min that felt like forever I get called to the desk and he would ask me more questions while clicking and writing on the computer. Not long after I get my passport back and can continue through to the baggage claim. I understand that they're doing their job but its so intimidating, you really feel like you're doing something wrong.
