To the person in the train claiming she was going to have a panic attack if she moved her bag...

heads up. this is a detramint.

i wish more people with mental disorders were willing to share that they had it. however i agree with your premise don't use it to be an asshole.

but as i have experienced first hand why the common advice is to never share a diagnosis. i understnd that it is for a persons own protection to never share a diagnosis.

i go to my doctor before anxiety. hey doc i got a chest pain. lets take an x ray to rule out bad thigns. get anxiety diagnosis. hey dcoc my legs hurt. it is jsut your anxietyy wear socks :( damint doctor you think i am an idiot who does not wear athletic socks when doing athelic things.

never again. when ever i go to a new doctor i refuse to share my mental health diagnosis. and know exactly why people refuse to share theirs. if people would treat peopel the same regardless of diagnosis everyone who share what was bothering them. but nope

every doctor i meet once they found out i had a mental healtyh problem treats me like i am slow. when in actuality i jsut am anxious and learned to be afraid of doctors because they treat me like i am slow.

it is one of those positive reinforcment. the more afraid of the doctor i am the ore the doctor thinks i have anxiety the worse the doctor treats me the more afriad of the doctor i become.

when doctors first see em they think i am amazing smart and healthy. once they learn i got psych issues. boom i am an idiot.

tl:dr; I think more people should share their diagnosis so that it becomes common place. but i agree that using it to get things is bad. becasue i have always found the opposite to be true. my quality of life goes way down once people know i have problems :( and i suspect everyone else has that problem
