They are overrated. Pinarello has done and extremely good job of selling this exact image to people, that they are pro bikes that have broken many records, are associated with Jaguar, are at the forefront of engineering, whatever. Therefore, you should buy one because it’ll make you fast too, faster than everyone else. But then you look at some of the bikes that have broken records and you see they’re like this one. You see they’re using a weird bottom bracket standard that literally no one else uses because it’s prone to issues. And then you see some of their marketing claims are dubious, I’m pretty sure once to the point of false advertising. Pinarello’s aren’t bad bikes — people don’t often come out saying they are in fact shit for such and such reasons — but people eat up their marketing way too much and now they are solidified as the “formula one of bikes”, which really makes me cringe.
