The same system in Portugal. The difference If you have more than 1,2 g/alcohol you going to jail, loose your driven licence or pay a huge fine sometimes can be more than 4000€. If you have 0,8 to 1,2g you have a ban for 2 months without driven (even if you need to drive in your job, normally they give the ban in all vacation you have, i remember my uncle one year he cant drive in Sundays and in his vacation until make 60 days of ban) and you lose 4 points and a ticket more than 600€. If you have 0,5 to 0,79 1 months without driven and lose 3 points and a ticket more than 300€. Speed can be 4,3,2 points a fine it depends where (city, outside city or a motorway) and how much your extra speed was. If you drive more than 30km/h inside a city you going to lose 4 points. Inside a city it's 50km/h if you pass 80km/h you put in danger the pedestrians...

Driven with a mobile phone lose 2 points and 120€... Etc... You can add 3 points if you stay 5 years without any violation, and can have a security courses in driven school to add extra points. I lose 7 points so far (was always excess of speed). Next month in my vacations i'm going make a course where i can learn to drive in hard rain. Going to win 3 extra points.

Only in bad parking you never going to lose points, only going to lose money...

If you are ban from driven or lose your drive licence and the police catch you... This going to be a criminal offence.
