Please help: I'm a Canadian and need help converting my Rupees into CAD or USD

Fellow Canadian here. I have looked into this and no there is no good way to make use of those rupees. The standing isntruction to Canadian banks is to halt ALL INR transactions, so no bank can help you with INR anymore.

I'm willing to pay shipping and split what I paid for the Rupees, so you'd basically make 7000 Rs just to stand in line at a bank browsing reddit.

I have tried mailing letters with Canadapost and the letters never reached India. So normal post (the $2 kind) or registered post ($20) is useless. You will have to use xpresspost or purolator or FedEx/DHL/UPS. All three will charge you $100 (thats about 5000 INR) for postage.

So your 15000 INR is now 10000 and you just got to India. The next step in the problem is that INR is a closed currency. You cant easily take INR out of India unless you are an Indian citizen. Lets assume this isnt a problem, but then there will be a wire transfer fee of $50 or so (2500 INR).

So I guess you are going to lose INR 7500 to begin with. Now if you split the rest 50%, you are looking at getting back $70 or so.
