Adds a "weapon lowered" animation for first person when you're not aiming down sight or moving. Immersive, no gameplay changes.
Armorsmith Extended by Gambit77
Enables all clothes to be worn with armor pieces, as well as consolidates the slots that head items use. Also standardizes armor/clothing mods. Everyone should use this. Also grab the All DLCs Patch, or whichever patch supports the DLCs you own.
Adds an upgrade for all clothes and armors (except headgear) that makes them invisible, allowing you to mix and match styles. No gameplay changes.
Adds police-style armor for Dogmeat that can be customized in colors and other features like pockets, patches, and shielding. I'm using the patch for Armorsmith Extended + DEF UI, grab whichever patches are relevant for your load order.
NCR Ranger Veteran Armor by unoctium
Adds multiple armor pieces (coat, helmet, mask) to match the NCR Rangers from New Vegas. Remember the badass title screen sniper? Hell yeah.
Quieter Settlements by Lemures
When your settlements start to have multiple generators and automated turrets, you'll wish they were quieter. This one is for your sanity.
Realistic Weapon Sounds by Towbiekun
Adds a handful of new sounds for various weapons which really helps escape from the same-y feeling that many of them suffer from.
Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch by Arthmoor
If you've ever modded a Bethesda game, this needs no introduction. These guys are dedicated to fixing everything Bethesda couldn't. Everyone should use this.
I'm a sucker for cyborg/transhuman mods. This adds several craftable nanosuits that require high leveled perks and expensive materials to make. Sole Survivor, Online!
Tomb Raider Accessories by crimsomrider
Adds many accessories that can be cheaply made at crafting benches, mostly for aesthetics. The backpacks can be modded for carry weight. There are several versions, select the one for Armorsmith Extended if you're using it, as well as all of the DLCs you own.
Overhauls Piper's trench coat to make her look more like the paragon of truth that she is. Check out screenshots to decide if you want it. Grab and install version 2.0 and version 2.1 -- if you don't, you'll have texture/mesh errors.
Companion Infinite Ammo by TheTalkieToaster
Companions will not run out of ammo as long as they have at least one round for their weapon. Only applies to weapons that already function that way for Settlers. (No Fat Man, etc.) Potentially gamebreaking if you insist on giving your companions the best weapons money can buy. Use at your own discretion.
Everyone's Best Friend by valdacil
Dogmeat will not occupy a companion slot. This one is actually based on a feature cut before the game was finished. That feature is why Dogmeat doesn't count for the Lone Wanderer perk.
Simple beauty overhaul for Piper. Obviously I have character bias. Check out the screenshots and decide if you want it. I use the True Reporter compatible version. This mod also requires THBrows, Commonwealth Cuts, and Ponytail Hairstyles. See below.
Visible Companion Affinity by cdante
When companion affinity is altered, it shows you exactly how much it was altered by in terms of the values the game silently keeps in the background. I use the version that displays affinity as a percentage value between 0% (strangers) and 100% (best friends).
Adds crafting recipes for nearly all ammo types. If you would prefer ammo crafting similar to New Vegas, do NOT install this. I'll list an alternative below. I use the 25x version with Perk requirements.
Legendary Modification by teaLz
Adds the ability to remove legendary mods from weapons and place them on other compatible weapons. I honestly do not like legendary mods, but this is a better solution than just removing them entirely. I use the Survival difficulty version, with 2LM and Concealed Armors + Valdacil Sorting compatibility.
Legendary Modification DLC and Fixes by junks808
Patches in DLC support for Legendary Modification. This patch was made by someone else, which is why I listed it seperately. Grab the version that matches which DLC you have.
Crafting Workbenches by drdanzel
Adds new workbenches you can build to craft weapons and armor from scrap. There's also a New Vegas-style ammo crafting module, so grab that if you skipped Craftable Ammo above. Grab the version that matches which DLC you have.
Adds the ability to craft static versions of scrap/junk objects such as books, bobbleheads, bottles, tin cans, and more! Purely decorative.
Faraway Area Reform by SparrowPrince
Improves the visuals of LOD textures, and may even improve your FPS.
Restores much of the pre-war grass textures, giving parts of the map a less barren appearance. Will impact FPS, so use at your own discretion.
Adds improved weather visuals and effects, such as rad storms, dust storms, and thunderstorms. Gorgeous mod, check out the screenshots. There's a patch for your DLC too, so check it out.
Vivid Fallout - Landscapes by Hein84
Texture overhaul! Will impact your FPS, use at your discretion. There's also an update for each version, I use the Best Choice mix.
Vivid Fallout - Roads and Bridges by Hein84
See above.
Vivid Fallout - Trees by Hein84

Vivid Fallout - Rocks by Hein84

Water Enhancement Textures by SparrowPrince
Adds new water textures to make water look more realistic and fluid. Again, watch your FPS.
Faster Terminal Displays by Old Nick
Speeds up the terminal startup animation whenever you access a terminal. Quality of life, your sanity will thank you.
Increases the distance that power lines can extend to.
Commonwealth Cuts by Aarwyn and ANiceOakTree
Adds a couple dozen new hairstyles for male and female characters. These will probably clip with most headgear.
More hair, this time specialized in ponytails. Again, will clip with headgear.
In vanilla, settler shops are empty and depressing. This adds gear around your settler shops, making them actually look like shops.
Pip-Boy Flashlight by akkalat85
Changes the pipboy, power armor, and lamp lights to make them brighter and more directional instead of the weak glow that they function as in vanilla.
