Politics & Biden Administration Megathread (Jan 2021)

With stimulus of $1400 still such an argument, I wouldn’t hold your breath over $50K in loan forgiveness. Every Republican will be against in in a hugely heated way - and almost assuredly a few Democrats. I’m not sure even 10K would get passed until next year with Schumer and Biden playing the game they are.

The huge amount of spending already done by the Trump admin needs to be addressed. Taxes on the rich need to go up. There are matters that are far more pressing to the powers that be. Until broader reform of college costs, interest rates, and forgiveness can be organized, you’re better off saving that money to start repaying in September.

Also, if you get 10K now, you probably won’t see another dime from the administration for another 4 years. Just saying.
