Update on IDR Adjustment - time to consolidate has been extended

I have not yet studied the plans as I was hoping the payment count update would occur prior to entering repayment. I have graduate loans that were ffel loans that I have been paying on since 1998 on a standard/extended repayment plan so I was never on IDR. I consolidated in April 2021 as I observed ffel loans being left out of the payment pause and no interest accrual plus there was a lot of talk of possible forgiveness in various forms that I anticipated would only apply to direct loan holders. My instinct was right. Biden announced the IDR waiver in April 2022 and then the blanket forgiveness which I understand may not be upheld by SCOTUS. I will have to look at the different IDR options. I was hoping for an update on the payment counts sooner after consolidating because I believe I am at 25 years or within months of reaching 25 years as I don't think I will have to make many payments but it is not surprising that the Education Department can't keep up with everything that is being thrown at them. I will say I had my husband consolidate his ffel loan to direct in October 2021 to take advantage of the pslf waiver and although he qualified for forgiveness immediately upon consolidation it took a year and a half (this month to be exact) for him to to get the official forgiveness so I imagine the IDR updates will possibly take longer.
