POSTGAME THREAD 5/25 - Diamondbacks (21-27) @ Pirates (26-19)

No downvote here. I disagree that the Dbacks image screams loser. Maybe I'll always have a soft spot for you guys since you denied the Yankees a World Series in 2001, for the only team I hate more than then Yankees, is the Cubs. As much as I hate your football team, I don't hate your baseball team.

Although I thought the Miller trade was a bad move (mortgaging the future type bad), I didn't think he was going to become a terrible pitcher over night. And who the hell had any idea Greinke was going to struggle like this? The Pollock injury, it sucks, no way to predict/prepare for that. Early in the Pirates season and still every time the Pirates lose, there is a portion of the fanbase that starts screaming that the owners don't care about winning because they didn't go out and give someone too much money. I guess my point there is, whatever a teams FO does, when it doesn't immediately work out, we tend to freak out.

I think you guys went in to this season making moves you thought would put you in contention, and unfortunately, it's looking like it might backfire. I say might because it's a long season, and anything can happen. Greinke will find his form. I think De La Rosa is a legit pitcher who is going to win a lot of games, he's just prone to the occasional bad inning. Even if you hate the Pirates, the lineup is legit. There are no weaknesses in the hitting. Patient hitters with 5 players batting over .300, so I wouldn't read too much in to De La Rosa losing this game.

And for what it's worth, I don't get the hate on your uniforms. I'm not a fan of the whites, but I actually dig some of the others. I think you guys get shit on for your uni's because it's not the same generic old school white/red, white/blue, grey/blue, grey/red crap that half the league is sporting.

Anyway, just a Pirate fans point of view. Good luck the rest of the season (after today of course :) ).
