A Ukrainian drone dropped munition lands on Russian troopers, severely wounding at least one Soldier.

Well, I totally feel your sentiment about these invading psychopathic @ ss hole Russian forces.

But in reality... often you simply just can NOT hear the drones. Often you just can't.

Depends upon the drone's altitude, and also the higher altitude wind directions which can literally carry the sound away from you.

And can even depend upon your own fatigue/biological weaknesses, as your brain can tune out stimuli when overly exhausted. Plus it can depend upon how much permanent/temporary ear damage you have on the battlefield, which happens to all soldiers in entrenched battles like this--simply from the sounds of constant firearms and explosions.

(In other words: you don't have time to put in ear plugs in the middle of a battle to protect the more sensitive range of your hearing, so that you can better listen for drones later on!)

So... all in all, getting taken out by a drone often enough doesn't have anything to do with one's IQ level.

I mean if they wanted to target friggin Albert Einstein himself in conditions like these with a drone--nothing he could have done to save himself.

Which if you ask me, is all very good for Ukraine!

But also a bit scary to think about what all this means for the future of upcoming wars this century. And of course Russian drones are being used to injure and kill Ukrainian soldiers too, in a similar fashion.

But thankfully, it really seems like Ukraine has the upper hand with that.

As for this unit leaving behind their fallen comrade, not much else they could have done, with drones overhead, in this particular scenario.

There's plenty of other scenarios however, in which Russians were astonishingly heartless leaving behind their wounded when they didn't have to, that you don't usually see in a cohesive well trained, well motivated unit.

But ya, in this scenario in the moment of battle, each soldier has to try to work as a team as much as possible, but also preserve themselves within reason, to continue fighting. So in the immediate moment of attack, they have to each scramble, and slowly regroup as much as they can, and try to figure out how and where the attack is coming from.

After that, a lot of militaries from other nations will make every effort they can to come back to help the wounded or claim the bodies of the dead.

We've actually seen some of the more humane units of Russia doing just that: coming back to check on the wounded, or cover up the dead after a drone strike, but then they sometimes get hit with a follow up drone strike--the drone just waiting for them to come back. (And again they often can't hear the drone.)

But ya, overall by far: most Russian units don't seem very concerned with their fellow comrades on average, compared to how other militaries operate.

Anyways, let's hope and pray Russia comes to their senses and withdraw soon. Can't believe how Russia is just so badly self destructing this way.
