Problem Player Megathread: May 6th - May 13th

Player tries to take over the game - outside of the actual gameplay.

Examples: - invites new people into the group even though we've stated multiple times that we're full. Leads to hurt feelings from hopeful players. Problem player then gets mad at us too.

  • reading the modules even though they know we're running them, and have asked people not to spoil them

During actual gameplay, the player acts disinterested, falls asleep, and generally does very little. If something doesn't go their way, they get frustrated and sometimes bicker.

Falling asleep at the table or just generally checking out the entire time really hurts our DM's feelings. Our DM is fantastic and greats great reviews from everyone else.

We aren't sure how to handle this player. We don't want to kick them out, but playing with them isn't fun.

How do we talk to them about this in a mature and respectful manner? I don't even know what to ask them.
