Problem with how people talk about SDF and YPG right now in this place

I think Israel's basic success came from walling-off the Palestinians, though clearly they have made other advances too.

1- Israel didn't wall off all the Palestinians. 16% of the population in Israel are Muslims (not including Israeli occupied parts of West Bank). 2- Turkey is walling off Syria too Turkey-Syria border is extremely flat.

It's entirely possible that the PKK could start getting a steady supply of ATGMs at some point in the future (from a vengeful Assad, say). Even if modernized tanks could handle that threat, there are plenty of other targets. Large numbers of artillery rockets are another plausible possiblity.

Syria will deal with PKK style insurgencies for decades even if SAA wins the war today. So if Assad gives ATGMs to PKK Turkey does the same thing too Turkey might even threaten Syria with declaring war too. Hafez Assad was backing the PKK in Syria but he backed off after Turkey threaten him with declaring war.

Even a small drone can become a guide-IED. For insurgent attacks, those are likely to be a real problem.

Only suicide drones are likely to be a problem and jammers are cheaper than drones. And jammers would easily defeat suicide drones.
