That’s one ingredient. That’s one of the problems with the comedogenic scale, it was developed by testing products at 100% concentration on rabbits, so while they may be comedogenic at full concentrations, most products have varying concentrations of many different ingredients so the comedogenic scale falls short in being 100% accurate.

And what’s blatantly obvious, is what might be comedogenic for me might not be comedogenic for you, as there haven’t been super in depth studies on humans for EVERY skincare ingredient at varying concentrations. There’s just not enough research out there for us to say “this absolutely WON’T break you out!!” It’s all a marketing ploy to get you to trust the product and buy it.

There are no regulations for “non-comedogenic” products either. It’s 100% a marketing term and not a medical term:
